Museum Of Desires

Last Sunday I was at the MUMOK (Museum Moderner Kunst) which reopened in September after some months of renovations (as I told you here). In her first exhibition the new director is presenting her subjective point of view of the museum´s nine-thousand-work collection. In amongst the exhibits from the collection there are works that the museum would like to acquire in the coming years (hence the title of the exhibition "Museum of Desires"). On the ground floor the oversized spider sculpture "La Vedova Blu" (The Blue Widow, 1968) by Italian artist Pino Pascali welcomes the visitors.

  1. Another interesting one! Vreni, I have often wondered, are you allowed to take photographs in the museums?

  2. Normally, it´s forbidden to take photographs, but luckily the MUMOK is an exception. Without flash you can take as much photographs as you like.

  3. Wow, a beautiful spider.
The sculpture of a large spider is exposed here in Rio de Janeiro in one of the busiest parks in the city.

  4. "The Museum of Desires"... There's a short story hiding somewhere behind that title.
